Sources of Free Counseling And Advice for Small Business Owners

Do you ever feel like you’re on your own and drowning in your own thoughts? If so, you’re not alone. Small business owners juggle many different aspects of their business and have to wear a lot of hats. And with the pressures of living in a litigious society, where consumers and competitors are all too eager to sue you over issues you may not even be aware of, such as copyright infringement, non-compliance with employer regulations, etc.

Although there is no substitute for having a competent and experienced business attorney, different organizations offer free counseling and advice for small businesses owners. Take advantage of their services.

SCORE
The Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) is a national provider of free business counseling to small businesses and a resource business partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and helps 20,000 new businesses get off the ground each year. SCORE counselors are executives, CEOs, and other retired businessmen. You can search for a counselor by keyword or industry — or by zip code to find an office near you.
